Meet Vera D, who was my first client with long COVID:
„I had a serious post-COVID syndrome and I was tired all the time, most foods made me sick. My doctor gave me antidepressants but they were not helping. I was taking supplements because I had been selling them for many years, but things only started to change after I met Tanya Horynová. She made tests and gave me very good advice on how to take care of myself and start again. After half a year at home, I went back to work only 4 weeks after we first met.”
Vera had COVID in December 2020. She was quite healthy before that with occasional digestive episodes – once in a few months, she experienced some heartburn. The COVID was like a mild flu. She was my very first case of long-COVID.
She returned to work and only then started to feel tired and develop several digestive problems including reflux and frequent diarrhea. Because food caused so many problems, she was eating less and less and was becoming very weak. Her medical examination did not show any particular symptoms so the doctor recommended taking antidepressants. He said that if she felt better, the symptoms would go away. Well, they did not.
Vera stopped seeing everybody, she did not want them to see her in such a bad condition. She was taking several supplements from Just including omega-3. We met at the end of April 2021.
Long-COVID pharmaco-nutritional approach: How we solved her case
We immediately started a 3-step approach:
- stop chronic inflammation by improving her omega-6/3 ratio
- balance her microbiota with a prebiotic fiber blend
- support healing by a complex vitamin/mineral/immune enhancer
Vera was surprised that she could actually digest all of the supplements I recommended apart from one to support her sleep (saffron extract).
She was doing her cure for only 16 days when she called me: “How is this possible? What’s in it? I want to recommend you to everybody, I finally feel better!” It only took 3 more weeks for her to get strong enough to go back to work.
Here is a comparison of her 1st and 2nd blood tests. Note that her results were a lot better than those of most of my other clients. Yet “better” is not enough, if the values are not sufficient, inflammation strives. And that is exactly the fuel for long-COVID symptoms.
